Beware of Jury Duty Scams

Be advised that jury duty scams are again on the rise.  Under no circumstances will a law enforcement agency or court staff contact you to pay any amount of money due to missing jury duty, nor will any legitimate agency demand gift cards or prepaid credit cards for payment of any fine or debt.

If you need to visit our office, it is located in the Douglas County Courthouse on 17th & Farnam, 3rd floor. A handicapped entrance is located on 18th and Farnam.

 

The Clerk of the District Court has resumed normal operations.

The Clerk of District Court’s office does not have information on how court hearings will be handled.

  • If you are represented by an attorney, please contact the attorney for information. 
  • If you are representing yourself, please contact the office of the Judge assigned to your case for hearing requirements.

For those who do not want to visit the courthouse, here are options;

Filings that are not time critical can be mailed.  Fines and judgment payments can be mailed, or paid online. Checks or Money Orders can be mailed to:

To pay online, go to the Nebraska.gov Payment Portal

If you require copies of documents from your court case, call 402-444-7018.

If you need to file a Protection Order, you can obtain the forms to print and fill out before coming in online.

Our office does not have forms for most purposes.  The forms that the State of Nebraska supplies, including those for Divorce, can be found on their Self Help Website, links to specific case types are:

Dissolution of Marriage With Children

Establishing Paternity, Custody, Parenting Time and Child Support

Modification of Child Support

Modification of Custody or Parenting Plan

Sheriff Service may limited at this time. Please contact the appropriate sheriff's office for more information on service processing.  (You may wish to delay any filings until restrictions are lifted.)
